Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva admits his match fitness is key to his success this season.
The little Portugal midfielder ran further, in the 2-1 win over Liverpool, than any other player has managed in the league this season.
He clocked 13.7 kilometres (8.5 miles) in that crunch game, beating his own league best, in the win at Spurs in October.
“I try to be as fit as I can, eating well and sleeping well, because I know how intense it is here in the Premier League, especially when you play big games like Liverpool or Tottenham," he said.
“You play against some of the best players in the world and cannot give them lots of time to think.
“These two teams especially play very offensive football, so the game is open and you have to run a lot and work a lot.
“I'm just happy we could win the games, otherwise the kilometres wouldn't have mattered."
