Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva admits he plans to eventually return to Benfica.

Bernardo says re-signing for his former club is on his career agenda.

He said, "I'll be honest, if I could go back to Portugal, to Benfica, in a year or two, I would do it straight away.

"It's a big part of my life. I grew up going to see the games, I played there from my 12 to my 19 years, it's almost half of my life.

"I was still young when I left and it was a big change, even if this transfer to Monaco was a beautiful chapter in my life."
