Man City midfielder Bernardo: Happily this season I've been scoring a lot

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has played down the importance of his goalscoring form this season.

Bernardo's seven league strikes making him the club's top scorer in the division and trailing only Mohamed Salah, Jamie Vardy and Diogo Jota.

However, the Portuguese has downplayed the significance of his own numbers and insists it doesn't matter who scores, only that City win matches.

"I always try to do my job the best I can," he said. "Happily this season I've been scoring a lot, I will try to keep it that way.

"Honestly, it doesn't matter who scores. Last season, for example, Gundo [Ilkay Gundogan] was scoring a lot, this season I'm scoring.

"It doesn't matter, what matters is that we're top of the league now, the team is playing very well at the moment, we're in good form. We have to keep it that way because at the end of the season we want to celebrate some titles."
