Manchester City midfielder Daniel Arzani has revealed the boost Kevin de Bruyne gave him as as he recovered from knee surgery.
Arzani's loan with Celtic last season was cut short by an ACL injury, but the Australian says seeing the likes of De Bruyne on the wall of his surgeon's office inspired him to come back stronger.
He stated, “The surgeon's wall is full of autographs and pictures so that gives you confidence.
“When you see those names and pictures of all the players who have got back playing again, he must be very good at what he does.
“Speaking to the physios here, ACL injuries used to be career-threatening.
“It's a lot more straight forward now. You're out for the rest of the season or longer considering when you do it but it's definitely not as bad as it once was.
“It just shows how precarious football can be. One minute you are on a high after the World Cup, signing for Man City and going to Celtic then, boom, an ACL injury.
“I'm just focusing on getting my body right, feeling good again, feeling that I'm not scared about changing direction or anything.
“I just want to play. I'll focus on things after. I just want that one full game first. Hopefully the rest takes care of itself."
