Man City matchwinner Foden: It was a good goal!

Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden was delighted to prove the matchwinner in victory over Brighton.

The goal sees Foden top the scoring charts for City in all competitions this season and the youngster admitted that he loves the feeling of finding the net.

"I don't score too many right-footed so when they come along, I enjoy them and it's always nice," he said. "It was a good goal. I always like being in the box. I want to keep scoring goals and I'm enjoying it at the moment."

The victory extends City's unbeaten run in all competitions to 14 matches and also preserves our 100% Premier League record against the Seagulls, winning all seven meetings and Foden feels the team are finding their feet at the perfect time.

"It definitely feels like we're back to our best. We're definitely taking confidence from these last couple of performances," he added.

"We dug deep to get the win. Overall I'm very proud of the team and how we kept going until the final whistle and it's a great result.

"They defended well and they had a good game plan, they made it difficult for us to break them down, but to get the goal before half time was so important and for me to score the winner, I'm delighted."
