Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola admits his side had one eye on the Champions League semi finals as they won the Carabao Cup final.
City were victorious against an extremely defensive Tottenham side at Wembley on Sunday, winning 1-0 thanks to an Aymeric Laporte header.
Guardiola did make some changes for the game, as his side takes on Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi final first leg on Wednesday.
He said: "We cannot deny it, one eye is always on Champions League.
"It's the second time we arrive in the Champions League semi-finals… but with what happened with Chelsea, we thought the best way to arrive is there.
"We take every game seriously otherwise it's impossible to win four Carabao Cup's in a row.
"Now it's time to rest and prepare for the semi-final against PSG."
Guardiola added: "We are two games away to try to win again the most important title of the season.
"The Premier League is the one I'm most proud of and we are so close.
"Marcelo Bielsa's team made a good draw against (Manchester) United, we are 10 clear and need two victories.
"In this crazy schedule, between games against PSG we are going to try to win the first one against Crystal Palace."
