Manchester City are happy to leave potential new signing Julian Alvarez on-loan with River Plate.
Ole says City could have added Alvarez to their squad immediately, but will allow him to spend the rest of the season at River Plate if the transfer is completed.
The report says he could stay longer should River progress in the Copa Libertadores, with City apparently aiming for summer 2023 as the date for when Alvarez would be considered for the first team.
Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez and Gabriel Jesus are currently out of contract in 2023, although extensions could well be agreed before that date.
