Manchester City have launched a genuine pursuit of Real Madrid's Toni Kroos, according to reports.
The Daily Mirror is of the belief that Pep Guardiola is desperate to reunite with the German midfielder, who he worked with at Bayern Munich, and has lodged a £50million bid for his services.
It is understood that City have approached the Spanish giants and have been given encouragement that a transfer is a possibility.
26-year-old Kroos is believed to be content at the Santiago Bernabeu but has reportedly not ruled out a move this summer, provided it is beneficial both financially and from a sporting viewpoint.
The report suggests that Real would need to get rid of one of their big earners if they are to compete with Manchester United for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.
However, indications are that the Frenchman is set to seal a big-money move to Old Trafford which could see City's chase for Kroos become futile.
