Manchester City and Liverpool are battling over Inter Milan's Slovenian pair Vid Belec and Renè Khrin.

Mediaset says City and Liverpool have been watching the pair in action for Slovenia U19 and are preparing to bid to bring them to England.

Belec is a goalkeeper, while attacking midfielder Khrin is rated highly by Inter coach Jose Mourinho. The pair are tied to Inter until 2011 and yet to open talks about a new deal.

To smooth negotiations with either City or Liverpool, both Belec and Khrin share the same agent, Marcel Kacinari.
