Man City legend Goater: Old Trafford doesn't have fear factor

Manchester City legend Shaun Goater believes teams no longer fear playing at Old Trafford.

City go up against Manchester United at the Theatre of Dreams.

"I don't think teams fear going to Old Trafford anymore," Goater told talkSPORT.

"Going to Old Trafford before, you were just happy to come away with a draw if you could. They were so dominant in Sir Alex Ferguson's time.

"You were pelted with chances, you had to defend and you'd end up walking away saying: 'We got away with one there, we only lost 4-1!'

"But now, we have seen teams go there and dominate and you just think, why are these teams dominating Man United at Man United?

"And it's not right just to put it down to Jose Mourinho's time. It makes you think, is this just Man United now?

"It's changed, it's just changed.

"In recent years City have gone there and have pretty much been dominant, so I think the players will be buoyant and upbeat and will have a real belief they can see this game through.

"But United players will be thinking: 'No, not today.'

"After what happened against Everton [losing 4-0 at Goodison Park on Sunday], there has to be a reaction. They will want to put on a good performance and prove they are playing for the badge."
