Manchester City and Newcastle United are eyeing Penarol winger Facundo Pellistri.
The Daily Mail says the 18-year-old Uruguayan has been earning rave reviews with his performances for Penarol's first team, who are coached by former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan.
Forlan holds him in such esteem that he had handed Pellistri the coveted Number 10 jersey for this season prior to coronavirus curtailing the campaign.
City are well placed in the pursuit though.
They have a full-time scout based in Uruguay, plus Montevideo City Torque under their company umbrella, and are understood to have already held discussions with Pellistri's representatives to put themselves ahead of the competition.
