Manchester City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega was delighted with his role in their Carabao Cup win against Chelsea.
Ortega won praise from manager Pep Guardiola for his performance on the night.
"It was clear before, the club told me that they were looking for a goalkeeper who tries to push Edi and tries to improve and is ready when it's time to play. This situation for me is to develop every day, show my best performance, that's the goal," he told the Manchester Evening News.
"There is so much quality in a training session, even with the goalkeeper coaches I have learned so many new things, I am a better goalkeeper than last summer.
"He (Guardiola) likes when the goalkeeper is good in the build-up, but he told me: 'In the end, your job is to save shots'
"You can be the best soccer player, but when you have slippery hands, you fail at your job. He wants the whole package, good at saving shots and good with his feet."
