Manchester City icon Yaya Toure has given a sober insight on playing alongside Barcelona star Lionel Messi.

The pair played together at the Nou Camp for three years, winning two league titles and one Champions League before Toure joined Manchester City.

And the 35-year-old has opened up on what it's like sharing a dressing room with the superstar.

"Messi is such a strange character," he told BBC Sport.

“He is different and special.

"You never hear him talking a lot and he is always concentrating and focusing on his football.

"He is a perfect teammate and enjoyable to play with."
