Manchester City hope to close the signing of Roque Santa Cruz before Wednesday.

The Sun says Santa Cruz will complete his move to Manchester City in the next 48 hours - providing he passes medical tests on his knee.

Blackburn's Paraguay forward, 27, who missed 10 weeks of last season, returns from his hols today and will head straight for Eastlands to put the finishing touches to a £15million switch.
