Manchester City hero Paul Lake feels his old club is on the brink of a golden era after winning the FA Cup.
Lake is excited about the future, and credits the FA Cup run with providing the sparkle and helping truly forge Roberto Mancini's signings into a team.
"If you look at the squad in depth and the talent we have in all areas - and I will be surprised if we don't reinforce certain areas - and add the experience and knowledge of the last two years, we are ready," he told the Manchester Evening News.
"A lot of City fans have been saying the monkey is off our back now.
"Once that pressure is off, there is a kind of release, and the confidence of the whole football club on the back of winning the cup, has galvanised everyone."
