Man City have a great deal of respect for Celtic boss Rodgers - Stones

Manchester City centre-back John Stones will be facing a familiar foe in Brendan Rodgers when City take on Celtic in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The former Everton man insists that City have a great deal of respect for the Celtic manager who he came up against in the past in Merseyside derbies with Liverpool.

"I have come up against Brendan and he has a lot of experience in the game and I faced him a few times when he was at Liverpool and we have a lot of respect for him," he said

"It is an exciting game for me personally. We will work hard and get ready for it."

City share top billing with Barcelona in Group C following their 4-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach two weeks ago while Celtic are at the foot of the group after being hammered 7-0 by the Catalan giants.
