Man City hat-trick hero Aguero breaks more records

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero broke two records with his hat-trick in victory over Aston Villa.

City claimed a 6-1 victory at Villa Park, in which Aguero helped himself to a treble, a record 12th in the Premier League, while he also became the competition's top scoring overseas player, reports the Mirror.

The Argentine hitman, already City's all-time record goalscorer, blasted home a stunning 25-yard effort in the 28th minute to equal Thierry Henry's record of 175.

Aguero, 31, had also managed the feat in less time than it took Arsenal's iconic Frenchman, whose 175 goals came in 258 appearances.

His treble makes it a remarkable 177 goals in just 255 matches.

That finish sealed Aguero's 12th Premier League hat-trick, putting him out on his own in that regard, one clear of Shearer.

Aguero is now also just one shy of 250 in a City shirt.
