Manchester City have opened talks with Napoli for Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Senegal defender has been linked with Liverpool this month, however Sky Italia says it is now City who are in contact with Napoli about a fee.
City are working through Koulibaly's agent, Fali Ramadani, who touched down in Naples over the weekend and went straight into talks with Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis.
De Laurentiis has softened on his original asking price for Koulibaly, though was told by Ramadani that the current €75m valuation was still too steep for City.
The dethroned Premier League champions see Koulibaly as the man to fill the void left by Vincent Kompany last summer.
