Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala remains hopeful of moving to Valencia.

The France international has been encouraged to leave by City and he's long made it clear he wants to move to Spain with Valencia.

With less than a year to run on his contract, Mangala has asked City to release him from his deal.

And Superdeporte reports City have agreed to hand him a free transfer.

Last season, Mangala managed just five appearances for the reserve team.
