Man City fullback Delph: I meditate - but I'm no vegan!

Manchester City fullback Fabian Delph credits his season success to meditation.

Delph puts his footballing renaissance down to a radical change in lifestyle.

“I meditate and have cut out red meat," he said.

“One of my pals said everyone seems to think I'm a vegan, but I'm not that at all.

“I stopped eating red meat and changed my diet in terms of getting it more balanced and healthier by eating more greens, more vegetables and I've cut out sugar.

“And it has helped me tremendously."

Delph puts his improved fitness record at City last season down to finding the right nutrition but insists meditation has made him mentally stronger too.

“For me, it is just breathing techniques, learning to be still, controlling your thought processes," said the Premier League champion. “It calms you down."
