Manchester City are pursuing alternatives to Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
It is no secret that a centre-back is City's key target for the rest of the transfer window.
They want someone to play with Aymeric Laporte in their first choice back four.
And The Guardian says City are thinking about Diego Carlos from Sevilla and Jose Gimenez of Atletico Madrid as alternatives to Koulibaliy.
Napoli want a huge fee for their defender, and if City can get a better price on Gimenez or Carlos, they may turn their attention to one of them.
Gimenez has a £109.8 million release clause, while Carlos' sits at £68.7 million.
