Manchester City are eyeing the LaLiga transfer market for a new centre-half signing.
Having failed to find a replacement for former captain Vincent Kompany, City are now further exposed after Aymeric Laporte's knee injury. Surgery means the Frenchman is likely to miss the season.
TMW says City are studying the LaLiga for cover in January.
Real Betis defender Marc Bartra and Real Sociedad's Diego Llorente are both on the radar, along with Athletic Bilbao stopper Unai Nunez.
Bartra is a former Barcelona player and is known to City's front office.
