Man City expect swift FA decision on Kompany appeal

A Football Association independent commission will decide in the next 36 hours whether the referee Mike Dean made an "obvious error" in sending off Manchester City's Vincent Kompany for his tackle on Arsenal's Jack Wilshere during the club's 2-0 win at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, reports The Guardian. City have lodged an official appeal against the referee's decision and will use television pictures as part of their evidence, with the tackle being able to be viewed from at least four angles.

Due to the case being part of the governing body's fast track process, if the FA receive City's evidence by the deadline of 1pm on Tuesday, the case should be resolved by the same evening.
