Manchester City are locked in talks for Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong.
While the Holland international is on the agendas of Barcelona, Tottenham and Manchester United, City have jumped to the head of the queue.
Dutch media sources say City have opened talks with Ajax chief Marc Overmars about a January agreement.
City are willing to go to €80m for De Jong and also prepared to loan him back to Ajax for the second-half of the season.
It's been suggested City boss Pep Guardiola has insisted they make De Jong's signing a priority.
