Kolo Toure is pushing to have his drug ban cut so he can start preseason at Manchester City.
The Telegraph says Touré is set to be given the opportunity to appeal for a return to first-team training with Manchester City prior to the end of his six-month suspension for admitting a doping offence.
He is currently banned until Sept 2 from all football activities, including training with his Manchester City team-mates, as a result of the punishment handed down by an FA Commission last Thursday following his positive test, in February, for a specified substance after taking his wife's water tablets.
But the 30-year-old defender has been made aware of the possibility of having his training ban cut short should he appeal to the Football Association for the right to return to training in preparation for the expiry of his suspension
