Man City defender Stones rejected Tottenham deadline move

Manchester City defender John Stones turned down the chance to go to Tottenham before deadline day.

Spurs were in the market for a centre-half, having tried to secure Milan Skriniar from Inter.

But the Daily Star reports Stones turned down the move, as he did not want to move his family to London.

Stones is not in favour at City under Pep Guardiola anymore, and may have to move in January to get regular first team football.

City have signed Nathan Ake and Ruben Dias as centre-backs this summer, and Stones may not even be in front of Eric Garcia in the pecking order.
