Man City defender Sandler delighted making belated Feynoord debut in PSV fight-back

Manchester City defender Philippe Sandler was delighted to make his Feyenoord debut this weekend.

Sandler has been plagued by injury since moving to Rotterdam, but was a second-half substitute for Feyenoord's 2-2 draw with PSV Eindhoven. He entered the fray with Feyenoord 2-0 down.

"If you come in at 0-2, you try to help your team from an attacking point of view," said Sandler. "The first half did not go as we wanted. Normally we look a bit fresher. I think we have a very fit squad. With the willpower we still achieved a good result.

"I have never experienced such an atmosphere, from both teams. That was wonderful to experience."

Now fully fit, Sandler is clear to play for Feyenoord in the Europa Conference League final. His loan includes an option for another two years.
