Manchester City defender Karim Rekik hopes to extend his loan with PSV Eindhoven into next season.

Thanks to his form with PSV, Rekik has played his way into the Holland squad this term.

"It would be awfully nice if I can stay at PSV for another year," he said. "Of course it also depends on the defensive plans of City for next year. I think that Joleon Lescott will leave.

"But if they sign another defender, then I see no reason to go back. "
