On-loan Manchester City defender Pedro Porro has been fined by police for breaching coronavirus lockdown restrictions.

The right-back, who is currently on loan at Valladolid, was fined nine miles from his home in Spain.

He released a statement slamming authorities. It read: "I just went to a shop and have been fined for going from my house to the Valladolid centre.

"I'll just mention I live in a very small town. I think it's nice and good to be fined if I am not doing what the government asks but one thing does take away from the other.

"I only went to buy something and I ended up getting fined. Having said that, I am very angry at how some people talk to you and address you with disrespect.

"I only say that nobody is above anyone else and you can go further by speaking respectfully. It seems some people don't know what this means."

But the 20-year-old quickly backtracked on the rant and apologised.

"I have made a mistake today and hope that it serves to show other people they should think twice before leaving their home if it is not for something out of their hands.

"I'd like to take this opportunity to apologise to the agents of the Valladolid Local Police who stopped me for the tension at the time and for the words I said after.

"They, like all of the state security forces and organisations, were only doing their job, which is to protect all of us."
