Manchester City's fit-again Aymeric Laporte has vowed to live up to Pep Guardiola's claims he is the world's best left-sided central defender.
Guardiola is delighted to have Laporte back and claims the Frenchman is the best left-footed defender in the business.
“I think it's great to hear that from this manager because he's one of the best in the world, if not the best," said Laporte, who has still to win his first senior cap for France.
“I'm very happy to hear that, but I have to work to be this. I have to keep going to stay there.
“I'm happy to be back on the field. It was very important for me to be back with the team, to be involved in everything. I think this was a good day because we won the game and I'm very happy to be back."
