Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte says making the move from Athletic Bilbao was the best decision of his career.
Laporte has managed to cement himself as a first-team regular at the Etihad this campaign making 31 appearances in all competitions. But despite his good form in his early time at City, he failed to earn a call-up to the France national team, which led to the Basque native to switch his nationality to Spain.
Speaking to Estadio Deportivo, the 27-year-old said: "Despite not having achieved the objectives that are always winning titles, on a personal level, it is one of the best experiences of my life. They welcomed me very well and they continue to do so.
"I feel at home, we are a family and I am very proud to be a part of it, of the phenomenal team atmosphere. I'm very happy for this experience and for enjoying the national team so much."
