Manchester City centre-half Aymeric Laporte has defended his support of PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot over his World Cup row.
Laporte publicy backed Rabiot when he rejected a place on France's standby list, which infuriated local fans.
However, the City defender told Bein Sport: "People take it as they want. I did not necessarily support his act but the person. I spent a lot of years with him in the youth national team, I know he's a very good boy.
"I know a lot of things hurt him and I supported the person he is. This is not his gesture obviously, it's not something I would do or applaud. I applaud the person that he is."
