Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte admits Spain's Euro 2020 defeat to Italy last night was tough to take.

Spain lost Tuesday night's semifinal in a penalty shootout.

Laporte later said: "A little emotional yes, it's hard to accept when you get to this stage of the competition.

"There are other great teams that have fallen before. We played great football. They were favourites before the game, we showed they weren't that favourite.

"We have shown that we are a great team."
