Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte was pleased with rekindle his partnership with John Stones against Club Brugge.
The pair have barely played together since Ruben Dias became a staple in Pep Guardiola's side last season.
But with Dias rested, the centre-back duo were instrumental in City's 4-1 win against the Belgian outfit on Wednesday.
"It was tough. We're very happy with the result," Laporte said after the game.
"It's always difficult in the Champions League. Club Bruges are a good team. They gave us a lot of difficulties.
"I'm very happy to play alongside John [Stones]. We've known each other a long time and we're happy to play together. There isn't many times we play in the same game.
"I'm happy today for the win."
