Man City defender Angelino: Shakhtar attackers made it tough night for me

Manchester City defender Angelino admits he had a tough Champions League night against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Shakhtar earned a deserved draw, thanks in part to some adventurous counter-attacking that saw them frequently target City's left hand side - where Angelino allowed them plenty of room.

After the game, the Spaniard admitted his own performance was not perfect, but highlighted an improved defensive display in the second half.

"A tough night," he told BT Sport.

"Obviously good to play even though we didn't get the result we wanted. We are top of the group so we have to take the positive things and keep improving the negatives.

"I had a fast player on the side but at this level every player gives you a tough time. That was their game plan in the first half, long balls to our back. We improved that in the second half so keep the positive things.

Asked if he was eyeing more appearances in the winter period until Zinchenko returned, Angelino remained coy on his first team chances.

"That's not my focus," he said. "My focus is to enjoy every chance and hopefully the team will keep doing the good things."
