Man City defeat Man Utd U18 in bitter mini derby

Manchester City U18 enjoyed a spirited 2-0 win over Manchester United in today's mini derby.

The likes of Tahith Chong (pictured), Indy Boonen and Angel Gomes had scored 15 goals between them in the previous three Academy league fixtures but they were unable to find the net against a City side who recently hammered their Liverpool counterparts 7-0.

Goals from Luke Bolton (23 minutes) and Phil Foden (78 minutes) sealed the Blues' victory at their own Academy Stadium.

Foden's strike coming just minutes after United goalkeeper Ilias Moutha-Sebtaoui was sent off for fouling the onrushing forward Joe Hardy.

RoShaun Williams also almost came to blows with a City player in the second-half as tension rose.
