Man City cool talks over new Wright-Phillips contract

Manchester City will not agree to Shaun Wright-Phillips' new wage demands, according to the Manchester Evening News. The winger's current deal is not set to expire until 2012, but the academy is rumoured to be seeking parity with the club's top earners.

Wright-Phillips, who pockets £60,000 per week, is alleged to feel put out that the influx of high-profile names at Eastlands, together with their high wages, has effectively dwarfed his salary.

The 28 year old has reportedly already rejected one offer, and the club are believed to now leave the situation for a while, before deciding whether to increase their offer.
