Manchester City's pursuit of Leroy Sane continues after they sent scouts to watch him in action on the weekend.

The Schalke winger is in Germany's 23-man squad for Euro2016 and was given a chance to impress manager Joachim Low further in the weekend's friendly with Slovakia in Augsburg.

City scouts were present as the talented 20-year-old played a full 90 minutes and it is believed that the Manchester club are ready to pull the trigger on a £40million bid.

Pep Guardiola is eager to tie up his key transfer targets as soon as possible and is expected to make a move for Sane before Euro2016, which could see his valuation rise if he performs well for Die Mannschaft.

City signed Ilkay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund on Thursday and are believed to be ready to make a £39m offer for Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte before focusing their attention on Sane.
