Man City confirm Bridge will play against Chelsea's Terry

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has confirmed Wayne Bridge will play against John Terry and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. There have been newspaper allegations about a relationship between Bridge's former partner Vanessa Perroncel and Terry, who was stripped of the England captaincy by Capello in the wake of the headlines.

On Saturday the former Chelsea colleagues will come up against each other for the first time since the story broke.

However, Mancini feels his defender is in the right frame to play.

"I think Wayne is OK," said Mancini.

"I don't know what has happened in the last two weeks but I am sorry for him.

"But mentally he is fine. He is an important player for us and we want him to play."
