Man City confident over Haaland injury setback with Norway

Manchester City are confident the groin injury sustained by Erling Haaland on international duty with Norway is not serious.

The Premier League top scorer is facing a race to be fit for City's clash with Liverpool on Saturday, April 1 after being ruled out of Norway's two fixtures due to a groin problem.

However, City manager Pep Guardiola could still be able to select his star striker for the home clash with Jurgen Klopp's side in what is a must-win game for both sides.

City are planning to test Haaland's injury further upon his return to Manchester, but have been encouraged by the striker leaving international duty as a precaution rather than playing and making the injury worse.

For the moment, Haaland has not been ruled out for the Liverpool tie.
