Manchester City expect to hold onto Leroy Sane to the end of the season.

The Daily Star says Sane is set to stay at City until the end of the season - but is still expected to join Bayern Munich next summer.

Germany international Sane had been linked with a January transfer away from the Etihad Stadium, with Bayern the most likely destination having chased him to over a year.

But Pep Guardiola has appeared to have won the race to keep hold of Sane for the time being.

Sane has been out of action since he tore ligaments in his knee during the Community Shield against Liverpool in August. He underwent surgery to repair the damage and is not expected to return to action until March.
