Manchester City chief Garry Cook admits Old Trafford's banner taunting City for their failure to win a trophy in almost 34 years "drives us nuts". Cook made the admission in the new documentary, 'Blue Moon Rising'.
Cook's admission that the goading of Manchester United supporters, whose "33½" banner hangs from the Stretford End to mark each year that passes since City last won a trophy in 1976, is a source of irritation encapsulates both the club's determination to usurp their great rivals and the self-deprecating humour of the City supporters.
Cook said: "There is a banner at Old Trafford which reads 33½ years and it is ticking towards 34, the number of years without a trophy here. It drives us nuts."
