Man City captain Kompany sounds out Balotelli about testimonial appearance

The testimonial for Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has been scheduled for September 11.

All proceeds going to Tackle4MCR to help tackle homelessness and rough sleeping in Manchester.

Kompany, 32, has been at City since 2008, and has won three Premier League titles, the FA Cup, four League Cups, and two Community Shields.

The defender has been a pivotal part of City's success over the past 11 years, making 352 appearances for the club, scoring 19 goals.

Kompany said that he will try and assemble players from the side which famously won the league against QPR in 2012 including Mario Balotelli, Edin Dzeko, Samir Nasri and Joe Hart.

He joked: "You say it's all about me, but if Mario turns up, it'll all be about him."
