Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has confirmed Mario Balotelli is on his way to AC Milan.

Milan jumped the gun yesterday, announcing the deal before City were ready.

But after their draw with QPR, Mancini conceded: "I hope he continues to improve to become one of the best players in Europe. The two clubs are still arguing and tomorrow we will probably close the deal, I think Mario has yet to undergo medical examinations.

"We are very sorry, he chose this because he has received a great opportunity to return to Italy and play for a big club like Milan."
