Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is shopping this month for new defenders.

The Daily Express says Mancini has made no secret of his desire to bring in defensive cover in January, having failed to sign Javi Martinez and Daniel Agger last summer.

He has had a long-standing interest in Roma's Daniele De Rossi and has considered moving for Borussia Dortmund duo Neven Subotic and Mats Hummels.
