Man City boss Guardiola: Thank-you Aguero

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is delighted with Sergio Aguero's decision to sign a new deal.

The Argentine has signed up for another three years at the Etihad, which would keep him at the club for ten years in total.

Guardiola said, "I didn't convince him, he decided for himself. I thank him so much for the trust in us.

"Players like him, Vincent [Kompany] and David [Silva] show their commitment to the club every day in training. I appreciate it a lot, thank you so much. I'm so happy they extend their contracts and stay for ten years in the club.

"Before it was easier to find players to stay their whole career in the same club. Today they want to live new experiences, and it's not bad if they want to discover new languages or go to other places with their families and prove themselves in other leagues.

"Society is nice for that, we can learn from other cultures to be a better person. It happened with Sergio: Argentina, then Madrid and then here.

"It's nice. He's an important player for the club, not just for the team. I don't know what's happening after three years but it's nice to count on him."
