Man City boss Guardiola tells Man Utd: Accept your reality

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has told Manchester United to accept their reality.

City host United in today's derby.

Guardiola said: "The best way to improve is to know exactly what really happened, honestly. The best way is say with yourself what is the reality, what are we doing, what is the next chapte.

"When you are bad, you are bad. When you are not good, you are not good. It happened with us, we have to accept it. After that is the best way. When they accept still they are a little bit [behind], that's the best way to reduce, come back and be closer to the team you want to be."

On former City chief Omar Berrada leaving for United, Guardiola shrugged: "Many executives, important players have gone in the recent past. New people are coming, they have to. I demand myself the best. They have to demand of themselves the best.

"In all departments, always we can do better. Otherwise, sit and wait and review what we have done, the other teams are working. If we rest, they are working. And working harder because they want to pull you from where you are. It's normal.

"Sport is like that. Always we can do better. Not just the managers, players, backroom staff. All departments in the club have to feel because they want to do it. They want to pull you out."
