Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola feels Kevin de Bruyne needs to go back to basics.

De Bruyne has admitted he could be playing better this season.

Guardiola said, “Because of the World Cup and many other things, this season has not been easy for all of us, including me.

"Kevin has an incredible ability to make assists, score goals and make passes like no other. But I always thought that they could get even better when he does simple things: don't lose the ball, be more mobile and active.

"You need to progress in simple things, and with it everything else will come."
