Man City boss Guardiola takes aim at 'long ball' Man Utd

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola took aim at Manchester United's long-ball tactics after their 2-0 defeat on Sunday.

Ederson had a day to forget, allowing Anthony Martial's shot to squirm under his body as United took the lead on the half hour at Old Trafford.

And the Brazilian was once again at fault for United's second, throwing his clearance straight to Scott McTominay, who made no mistake in putting the long-range effort in the back of the net in the closing seconds of the game.

Guardiola told the BBC: "We played good, we missed a little in the final third but the second half was better and it was a good performance.

"We play the same way, tried the press and defend well and we did well.

"Our game is there, we played really good in terms of coming here. They wait and did long balls on the counter-attack for Daniel James and Anthony Martial.

"We did our game but unfortunately we conceded a goal. They waited for our mistakes."
