Man City boss Guardiola refuses to speak on Atletico Madrid tactics after 'well deserved' result

Pep Guardiola refused to criticise Atletico Madrid following Manchester City's victory in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Ahead 1-0 after the first leg, City fought gallantly to secure a goalless stalemate in the Spanish capital on Wednesday night.

The match ended in a melee after Felipe clattered into City ace Phil Foden, a target of poor tackles throughout the match.

Known for their ability to rattle opponents, Guardiola was asked if Atleti went too far, to which he replied: "Nothing to say."

And when quizzed on if Phil Foden was targeted, he added: "I don't know I cannot talk about what other people do, I don't know."

On the overall performance, Guardiola said his team fully deserved to go through.

He continued: "It is the champion of Spain and they played with energy and in second half were better than us and we were lucky we didn't concede. In the first half we had chances, overall we are in the semi-finals - it is well deserved.

"The opponent is so tough, all the teams in Champions League come here an suffer so it is important we go through."
